Why We Built This Site
South Carolina gives the public broad access to many court records, subject to privacy, sealing, juvenile, adoption, and other confidentiality rules. The hard part is figuring out which Dorchester County office holds the file you want. The Clerk of Court supports Circuit Court and Family Court records, including General Sessions, Common Pleas, Family, and Juvenile Court paperwork. Probate Court handles estates, marriage licenses, guardianships, conservatorships, trusts, and related probate matters. The Sheriff manages jail and law-enforcement records, while Magistrate and Municipal Courts handle many summary criminal, traffic, warrant, bond, and small-claims matters.
